From Order to Doorstep: What Actually Happens in Those 14 Working Days

When you place an order for custom clothing, the clock starts ticking. And if you’ve never ordered custom before, 14 working days might sound long.

It isn’t. Here’s why — and exactly what’s happening during that time.

Custom Is Not Stock

When you buy a t-shirt off a shelf in Yaba or order something from a fast-fashion site, that garment was made months ago. Someone manufactured it in bulk, shipped it to a warehouse, and it’s been sitting there waiting for someone to buy it.

Custom clothing doesn’t work like that.

Nothing is made until you place your order. Your garment is produced specifically for you — your design, your size, your specification. That’s why it takes longer than buying something that already exists.

14 working days for a garment that didn’t exist before you ordered it is genuinely fast.

What’s Happening Day by Day

Custom garment in production — printing stage

Days 1–2: Order processing and file preparation

Your order is received, payment is confirmed, and your design file goes through a quality check. We verify resolution, colour profile, and placement accuracy before anything goes to production. If there’s an issue with your file, this is when we catch it and fix it — not after it’s already been printed.

Days 3–8: Production

Your garment goes into production. The blank is selected, your design is applied using the appropriate technique for the garment type and design style, and the finished piece goes through a quality check before it’s cleared to move forward.

This stage takes the most time because it involves real physical production. Our manufacturing partners maintain quality standards that take time — and we don’t rush this step.

Days 9–12: Quality check and dispatch

Premium brand packaging ready for dispatch

Your finished piece is inspected, packaged, and prepared for dispatch. At UncensoredWears, the packaging is part of the product — your order arrives clean and protected.

Days 13–14: Delivery

Delivery across Nigeria. We cover all major cities and many smaller ones. If you’re in Lagos or Abuja, delivery often arrives before the 14-day window closes.

Why We Don’t Promise Faster

Some shops promise 5-day or 7-day custom production. A few deliver on it. Most don’t — and when they miss, your order sits in production limbo with no clear update.

We’d rather give you an accurate timeline you can trust than an optimistic one that sets you up for frustration. 14 working days is the commitment. We keep it.

Tracking Your Order

Once your order is dispatched, you receive tracking information. You can follow your delivery from our production facility to your door.

If anything changes — production delay, shipping issue, anything — we contact you proactively. We don’t wait for you to chase us.

When to Order

Excited customer receiving a custom clothing delivery

If you need a custom piece for a specific event — a birthday, a concert, a corporate function — work backwards from that date.

Add 14 working days to today’s date. If your event falls after that date, you’re fine to order now. If it doesn’t, contact us before ordering — we may be able to help, or we may need to be honest with you that the timeline won’t work.

Plan early. Place your order here. Your garment will be worth the wait.
